Pet Portraits

It's not very often that I get the opportunity to draw a pet portrait. But when I do get the rare chance to do one, I always enjoy it! This little guy was lots of fun to draw. This portrait was completed in mid December for a friend of mine for her mother for Christmas. Sometimes I feel like animals are a lot easier to draw than people because of their hair.... there's less perfection in the pet portraits because of the fur. This makes my job A LOT easier.

Preston

My favorite so far...

This portrait was finished in November 2009. I believe that this portrait is my favorite one so far. I really enjoyed drawing this picture because the little boy in the photo had so much character. There were a lot of challenges with this portrait because I had to draw the whole upper body and not just the head and shoulders. I had a lot of fun with this one!

The Big Barn

I painted this landscape in July of 2009 as a gift for my boyfriend. I took a photograph of this scene and recreated it on canvas.

"I'll Be Here for You"

This is a GREAT gift idea for Newlyweds and newly engaged couples! I painted the lyrics to my boyfriend's and my song on three seperate canvases and hung them vertically on the wall. This is a great way to remind yourself of all the reasons why you love your special someone. : )

Self Portrait

This self portrait was my first attempt at painting. It was completed in 2005. This piece remains one of my favorites because it portrays my own self image, and not my actual physical appearance.

"Reading Takes You Places"

This painting hangs in the library at Leon Sheffield Elementary School in Decatur, Alabama. This piece was completed in September of 2009.
